The D-Light Retrofit comes from the mind of a founder at UV-Clear, the first UV-C LED germicidal device designed to retrofit into any HVAC system. Applying key learnings from the success at UV-Clear, and with the improvement of public health and the environment at the forefront of his thinking - our founder sought further ways that they could help make public transmission of infectious diseases a thing of the past.

Vitamin D as a marker for mitochondrial health in the body is well established, but until recently the most effective means to accomplish this outside of sun exposure had remained elusive. Studies of the past decade have confirmed a specific band of UV-B light that is most effective at producing vitamin D, these wavelengths are able to be narrowly produced by new LEDs without superfluous, unneeded and harmful UV light spectrums as before.

We realized designing a platform using these LEDs and being able to retrofit into tanning beds would allow the benefits of optimum vitamin D levels in the body to be experienced by the largest number of people, while also providing a unique strategic advantage to any wellness facility that adopts the technology.
